We have been hearing and seeing a lot in the past two or three years about the development of pots that are eco-friendly and bio-degradeable. Being aware of this has made us watch the market for cost effective ideas about how we can help sustain our environment. Our question to you, the consumer, are you willing to pay a little bit more when it comes to plastic versus bio-degradeable? At this point in time, plastic pots are still less expensive but cannot be recycled. The bio-D pots will break down over a year or two in a landfill or can be used for a season at your home.

I think the bio-degradable pots would be great for larger plants, shrubs and trees. I like plastic pots for the smaller annuals because I reuse them in the fall for cuttings.
